How did PopUp Ashram get started?

Michael Liss, Founder of PopUp Ashram, knows a thing or two about vacations: for over a decade, he served as Managing Director of Butterfield & Robinson, specialists in tailored luxury travel experiences. He scoured the world for adventurous and authentic vacation experiences focused on culture, cuisine, awe-inspiring landscapes, great hotels and a good dose of hearty exercise. Then four years ago he met a Shaman, and has been on a spiritual journey ever since.
PopUp Ashram™ brings Michael’s experience full circle. It’s Butterfield & Robinson meets Burning Man with a spiritual bent. “My personal journey has taken me around the globe, to Bhutan, Bali, Australia, India, Italy, Mexico, Peru, across the US, searching out teachings and teachers. Yet all the while I understood that there is no contradiction between searching for answers and searching for beauty at the same time. There was deep learning – like being trained to teach two kinds of yoga and opening up to many healing modalities – but also lots of fun and a real joy meeting people who opened up my life experience in so many ways.”
